The City of Saratoga was named number 26 in CNN and Money Magazine's poll of best places to live in the United States in 2005. The city is an attractive residential community with excellent schools and a historic downtown district with distinctive dining and unique shopping. Over 30,000 people call Saratoga their home. Staying true to its agricultural roots, the city features the Mountain Winery in the Saratoga foothills. Moreover, the city continues to strive today to maintain the elements of its natural beauty, with numerous parks including Hakone Gardens, the oldest Japanese-style residential gardens in the Western Hemisphere.
